Hmmm... I have been listening to Liz Carroll's CD's today. Very interesting. Since I have been listening to mostly trad. music, this is a change. I like it... It's hard to explain. It kind of got a different format or structure than your typical trad. fiddle tune, although I guess that wouldn't be true with all the songs. I may try to learn a few of them. I like the "Lost in the Loop" track. Hmm... I need to play more often! I'm inspired today!

Ok, I just realized that the date today was 6-6-06.....Hmmm.

Not that anyone actually reads this, but...

~>I've been really busy lately. My brother and I have been playing a lot of wedding gigs. They seem to be a little more stressful than most normal gigs because you don't want to screw up the music to someone's wedding. You have to be a lot more careful of your playing than if you were playing somewhere else for something else. People actually care if you mess up! Usually, when you play other gigs you can cover up a lot of the mistakes and fake your way around them. You also have to play a totally different kind of music at a wedding verses somewhere else. Formal music is just harder to play I guess.


I am looking forward to getting back to my regular schedule and getting to play more Irish tunes!

~>I've been listening to a lot of Irish fiddle music lately. I really like Martin Hayes style of playing. If you are an Irish fiddle fan, check him out. In my CD player.


~>Holly Brook is a new artist that in my opinion will become a pretty well known singer and songwriter. A friend who I have played music with knows Holly personally. Holly is about to release her first CD, so listen to it and if you like it, BUY IT! I really like her music and her voice.


~>KT Tunstall is what's in my CD player right now. She has an awe-some sound to her voice and can really play a guitar. You should go to her MySpace site and check out the video of her playing. She has mastered the loop. Anyway, I really am in to her music right now!


~>Wow, talk about a great guitar player! Rachelle van Zanten is a really cool musician! It's a rare thing to see a girl who can play a guitar like she can. I don't think she has an album out yet, but check out the songs on her Rachelle van Zantenwebsite and . I will be buying her CD when it comes out.


~>The Ditty Bops are an interesting band/group that I have grown to love. Their music is very strange, but really very good. Interesting song writing as well. They have opened for Nickel Creek a few times, but at the moment, don't have very many shows booked to play. I want to see them live. I have heard they are very funny. In and out of my CD player.
